More about the project

What is the social/environmental problem/issue that this project will address?
There are a lot of elderly, people with mental health support needs and refugee and migrants who suffer in isolation throughout the period of Christmas festival. This project is aiming to organize the event and provide a Christmas experience to the service users of local charities who are facing lonely Christmas. We will involve local people into sharing Christmas spirit with those who would not be able to experience it otherwise.
Can you give us some statistics on this problem?
Our community partner supports over 2000 people who suffer from isolation and mental health support needs.
What is your solution?
We would like to set up an event supported by local residents and volunteers which aims to promote inclusion, accessibility and awareness of the issue as well as provide the community building evening/event for both community members and charity service users uniting them over the Christmas festivities.
How will you deliver this?
We are planning to fund raise for the delivery of the event (food and refreshment) and involve local community in the delivery of the activities (food preparation, befriending, entertainment, etc) through volunteering.
