Democracia real ya! ‘Democracia real ya!’, meaning ‘real democracy now’, is an exciting exhibition of street art by Rosario Martínez Llaguno and Roberto Vega Jiménez, who are members of the Mexican art collective Lapiztola Stencil. We need your help to bring the artists to the UK and create a series of original works at the Rich Mix venue in East London. The exhibition will celebrate the fight for economic justice that the artists are involved with in Oaxaca and Mexico as a whole. We have a proud history of working with organisations around the world that fight for social and economic justice. With your help, we can tell the story of social movements in Mexico through the exhibition. ‘Democracia Real Ya’ will mark the relaunch of the World Development Movement as Global Justice Now in early 2015.Please make a donation today to help reach our target of £7,000. You can help us put on a powerful, educative and exciting exhibition bringing together our own activism in the UK with the fight for social justice in Mexico and the work of an exciting group of street artists. In early 2015, social justice campaigning organisation the World Development Movement will become Global Justice Now. It’s an exciting time for us. We’re adopting a name that better reflects who we are, whilst continuing to work with organisations around the world that fight for economic and social justice and fight against a system designed for the few at the expense of the many.
This campaign will keep all funds raised once it has reached its Tipping Point.
